Assistant/Associate Professor of Music Coordinator of Music Education

Seton Hill University invites applications for the position Assistant/Associate Professor of Music - Music Education, beginning in August
2013.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in Music Education and at least three years experience teaching in the public schools. Prior experience developing and coordinating music education curriculum is preferred as is evidence of an ongoing record of professional activities in the discipline and experience teaching at the college level. A commitment to teaching within the context of a liberal arts education is required.

Responsibilities include: coordination of the music education curriculum, teaching music education methods courses, and supervising student teaching. Additional duties will include teaching in the applied, music theory or music history areas as determined by the qualifications of the candidate and the needs of the program.

Send letter of application, curriculum vitae, evidence of ongoing professional work, a statement of teaching philosophy, transcripts (copies acceptable for application) and three current letters of reference.

Review of applications will begin on December 3, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled.
